On Tuesday afternoon Springfield Police officers served a search warrant to Mason Williams, a 20-year-old man from Springfield, at his home. During the search, officers located 1066 grams of cannabis, THC cartridges, a Colt 22 caliber revolver, and a small amount of crack cocaine. Williams was arrested and taken to the Sangamon County Jail where he awaits formal charges from the Sangamon County States Attorney’s Office.

Williams was arrested for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, defacing identification marks on a firearm, delivery of cannabis over 500 grams, possession of a firearm – No FOID, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated fleeing/eluding.

Williams is facing additional charges for an incident the previous evening where he had fled from officers that had attempted to conduct a traffic stop on his vehicle.
