Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Cutting-edge technology – two Anatomage 3D imaging tables – is now in use at UIS. The tables, valued at about $100,000 each, are donations from Memorial Health.
The classes which will use them include, of course, anatomy and physiology, but also the athletic training curriculum, run by Celest Weuve.
And people with any kind of health-related degree will find themselves in demand.
“I just found out one of my students has a job at the Caterpillar plant in Decatur that he just got hired on for,” said Weuve.
An athletic training degree leads to a job at Cat?
“Ergonomics. They do repetitive activities over and over and over again,” Weuve responded. “They’re very physically active, so someone who sprains their ankle on the factory floor is no different from an athlete who sprains their ankle on the basketball court.”
