Tuesday was moving-in day for 185 UIS students who will make either Lincoln or Founders Hall on campus their home for the Fall Semester.

Dozens of volunteers, student athletes, campus ministries, youth service workers and others helped with unloading, locating assigned rooms, filling rolling carts and just generally helping students and families find their way.

Check in times were required to maximize efficiency so teams were kept busy through the day. Temperatures ran into the 90s. The day was so hot that bottled water ran in short supply for the volunteers and students and campus police had to bring in emergency re-supplies.

Chancellor Janet Gooch was in attendance to welcome students and encourage and thank volunteers.
