Aldermen have confirmed Gwendolyn Harrison as director of Lincoln Library, the city’s public library.
“It is my desire to provide leadership and full support as we work together to make Lincoln Library a place of destination,” said Harrison (pictured). “There are a lot of tools already available in the library administration structure that will be asked to dig deep and help continue to create a library that makes the community exciting and a safe place with the provision of books and electronic resources.”
Harrison, who previously worked at Lincoln Library, was most recently an administrator at the Illinois State Library.
Mayor Misty Buscher selected Harrison after choosing not to keep Summer Beck-Griffith, who served under the previous administration..
