Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A man with multiple drunk driving arrests, one as recently as April 22, but who was released under the conditions of the Pretrial Fairness Act was arrested again on Sunday night after witnesses say he crashed a Chevy Tahoe into four parked cars.
The driver of the Tahoe, 49-year-old Antwione Craig of Springfield was located approximately one block away from the crash by police as he was being chased by several witnesses.
Police say Craig demonstrated several signs of impairment, which led to his arrest for aggravated DUI.
Craig was arrested for the following charges relating to the traffic crash:
DUI as a revoked driver (four or more offenses)
Aggravated DUI-revoked/suspended license
Aggravated DUI-vehicle not covered by insurance
Driving under the influence
Driving with a revoked license
Leaving the scene of an accident
Possession of cannabis
