The man found dead Friday morning near Third Street and Belmont Avenue in Springfield had a recent criminal history.

Sangamon County coroner Jim Allmon says Terrence Harris, 52, was apparently shot to death.

About a month ago, it was reported Harris was arrested a couple of times for allegedly stealing things from the Lanphier High School construction site. That’s among fourteen arrests total. He also was accused of giving police somebody else’s name.
