Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sheriff Jack Campbell said it was a “a great shock” when skeletal remains were found late Monday morning in the 2100 block of South Grand Avenue East. The remains were found as an investigation delves into the disappearance of Shelly Bianco, last seen in 2008.

The homeowner, preparing for remodeling, found at least one possession with Bianco’s name on it before the remains were discovered.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has custody of the remains and says he’ll be calling in forensic experts for autopsy.
