An SMTD bus driver has been cited for disregarding a traffic control device after a three-vehicle accident left two people with injuries requiring transport to the hospital, according to Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell.  Witnesses say the accident at the corner of Sangamon Avenue and Dirksen Parkway on Wednesday around 4pm happened when the bus driver was attempting to make a left turn onto Dirksen and struck a west-bound Dodge Caravan. The force pushed the Caravan into another vehicle at the intersection. A passenger on the bus and the driver of the Caravan were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
