Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield Police are searching for a man who broke into two Springfield fast food restaurants. On March 18th, Avion Hunter was arrested for burglary at Subway on Linton Avenue. Springfield Police report he confessed to multiple burglaries at that point. Hunter was on parole at the time of the arrest and was charged with three felonies. He was released under the Pre-Trial Fairness Act.
On March 29th, Hunter was the suspect in a burglary at Hardees on Sangamon Avenue. He was arrested April 12th, charged with burglary and outfitted with an ankle monitoring device. Hunter reportedly removed the monitor on April 16th.
According to SPD, his criminal history includes arrests for: burglary, criminal damage, theft, aggravated battery, resisting a police officer, and unlawful use of a weapon. Anyone with information about Hunter’s whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement.
