Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A threatening 911 call prompted an evacuation at the Illinois State Capitol Monday just before 1 p.m. Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulis announced via social media that the evacuation was done out of an abundance of caution, and Secretary of State police swept the building and grounds for explosive devices. None were found, and employees were allowed back into the building this afternoon around 1:45 p.m.
