TWO FATAL ACCIDENT TO REPORT

On Sunday around 9:30 p.m., a 911 caller said a pedestrian was in the roadway and was not breathing. The driver involved, a 46 year old woman from Springfield, said she was driving north on Dirksen Parkway. The driver said she thought she had struck a shopping cart in the road.

The victim, a 33 year old female from Greenview, was pronounced dead at the scene.

AND On Sunday at 12:50 p.m., Springfield Police reported of a single vehicle accident in the 2800 block of East Lake Shore Drive. Police says the vehicle went off the roadway striking a tree.

The driver was treated for non-life threatening injuries but the passenger did not survive.

Both accidents are being investigated by authorities.
