Clinton and Nokomis are among the communities getting an infusion of money to help with aging water infrastructure. The Illinois EPA has announced another $85 million in low-interest loans to fund wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water projects.

The Clinton Sanitary District will make multiple improvements to the wastewater treatment plant, replacing deteriorated equipment and upgrading treatment processes to meet stricter phosphorus limits. Nokomis will replace 9000 linear feet of watermain and rehab the water treatment plant.
