Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – There is a lawn where the YWCA used to stand – north of the Governor’s Mansion. And its future has Gov. JB Pritzker’s attention.
“You might say, well, gosh, it’s been so long, why hasn’t it happened?” Pritzker (pictured, right, with moderator Bernie Schoenburg) said Thursday at a Citizens’ Club of Springfield program. “Suffice it to say, we have left it to the city to tell us, what do you want? What do you want, and how can we help as a state?
“It really is a collaborative endeavor,” Pritzker continued, “to figure out how do we make this most useful for Springfield, because this is not a business deal. This is really about upgrading life for people in Springfield, making sure we are getting the most out of that block.
“The minute we got to the Governor’s Mansion, my wife was, like, “What are we going to do here?”
