Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – UPDATE (8/6)  The 17-year-old killed in a shooting in the 1800 block of South 11th Street on Sunday afternoon has been identified by Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon as Dayquan Wiley of Springfield.  Wiley was pronounced dead at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at 3:33 p.m., shortly after his arrival by EMS.

An autopsy was done Monday, and preliminary findings show Wiley died from multiple gunshot wounds. The death remains under investigation.

(8/5)  A 17-year-old is dead after a shooting in the 1800 block of South 11th Street Sunday afternoon. Springfield Police responded to a report of a shooting just before 3 p.m. and found the teen, who had been shot multiple times, inside the residence.
