Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A 19-year-old Stonington man died early Monday after he was shot during a disturbance at a home in Springfield. Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon identified the victim as Camren White. An autopsy determined White died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies responded to multiple reports of gunfire around 1 a.m. in the 800 block of West Lenox. White was transported by ambulance to a Springfield hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:45 a.m.
The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with a doorbell camera or home security system check their video footage from Monday morning between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. and to contact the Investigations Division at (217) 753-6840 or Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8427 if any individuals are captured in the footage.
The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office.
