Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Two Springfield men were arrested Friday night after the Springfield Police Department Street Crimes Unit found firearms and drugs while conducting a search warrant in the 2800 block of Clear Lake Avenue.

The team located two fully automatic AK rifles, one AR style rifle and 3 pistols, one with a switch conversion kit. Officers also seized 28 grams of crack cocaine and 5 bottles of promethazine.

Darnell Wilson, Jr., 20, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, manufacture and delivery of cocaine, possession of a machine gun automatic weapon, and possession of a firearms-no FOID.

Kevin A. Spearman Jr.,19, was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, armed violence, unlawful use of a weapon-machine gun, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.

Both Wilson and Spearman remain in the Sangamon County Jail.
