Springfield, IL – (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County is witnessing robust early voting as the election approaches, with significant participation in both mail-in and early in-person voting.
According to the latest figures provided by the Sangamon County Clerk’s office, 25,750 mail-in ballots were sent out to voters in the county. Of these, 17,976 ballots have already been returned, with 17,911 counted and 65 rejected, as of the end of the day Tuesday. Voters can track their ballot to ensure it was received by the election authority.
In addition to mail-in ballots, 10,874 voters have cast their ballots early in person. Early voting is available at the Sangamon County Election Office in the County Building on Ninth Street and at the University of Illinois Springfield Student Union for certain precincts.
