Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will host a series of winter events, including holiday performances, free admission nights, and family activities.
- The Nutcracker Performances: Copper Coin Ballet Company will present free 30-minute shows on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20 at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- Holiday Walks: Dec. 6, 13, and 20 from 4–7 p.m. Free museum admission and parking at Sixth and Madison. Visitors are encouraged to bring new hygiene items for donation.
- Gold Star Family Christmas Tree: Lighting ceremony on Dec. 8 led by Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Terry Prince.
- Free Ice Skating: Union Square Park Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 29 through Feb. 15, 1–4 p.m. Special hours on Dec. 3, 10, 17; Dec. 31; Jan. 19; and Feb. 16.
- Model Railroad Display: Dec. 6 from 1:30–5:30 p.m. in the museum plaza.
- First Night Springfield: Dec. 31 from noon–5 p.m. Kid-friendly entertainment and early countdown at 4 p.m.
- Winter Farmers Market: Union Station, 8 a.m.–noon on Dec. 20; Jan. 3, 17, 31; Feb. 14, 28; March 28; and April 25.
