Champaign, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY) – Senior Fighting Illini football players Luke Altmyer, J.C. Davis, and Xavier Scott will represent the University of Illinois at Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas from July 22-24. Illinois head coach Bret Bielema and his three standout athletes will take the stage on Day 1 of the event.

Quarterback Luke Altmyer returns as one of college football’s top signal-callers after throwing for 2,717 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. His leadership helped propel Illinois to a 10-3 record, tying the program’s single-season wins mark. Altmyer also leads the nation with five career game-winning drives in the final minute or overtime.

Offensive lineman J.C. Davis, a stalwart at left tackle, enters 2025 with 37 straight starts. The All-Big Ten Third Team honoree earned national attention by allowing zero pressures in Illinois’ Cheez-It Citrus Bowl victory over #14 South Carolina, earning him a spot on the AP All-Bowl Team.

Defensive back Xavier Scott brings elite credentials into the new season after being named First Team All-Big Ten and a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award. With 25 career starts, 121 tackles, 24 passes defended, and six interceptions, Scott anchors Illinois’ secondary heading into 2025.
