Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Animal Protective League’s (APL) Annual Donuts and Dogs 5k Fun Run is Saturday, June 1st, at Southwind Park in Springfield.

There will be vendors, activities for kids and dogs and Mel-O-Cream donuts from 9 a.m. to Noon. The timed 5K race begins at 10 a.m. and the Fun Run begins at 11 a.m.

The race/walk registration fee is $30 and pre-registration is required.

APL says, If you want to race with your dog they need to be sociable, well-behaved, up-to-date on all vaccinations, have proof of current rabies vaccine and be at least four months of age.
And organizers say, Don’t forget to dress your best for the costume contest.

Race participants, individually or as a team, can raise funds for APL by creating an online
fundraising page.
