Team Practice
Girls team practice will take place at the BOS Center on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. *SHG Girls will practice on Wednesday, Jan. 21st due to a conflicting contest previously scheduled for 20th. Media interviews can be conducted before or after each school’s session as follows:
Springfield High School: 3:45 to 4:30 PM
Southeast High School: 4:30 to 5:15 PM
Lanphier High School: 5:15 to 6:00 PM
Tickets and Parking
Presale tickets may be purchased for $7 per night at any participating high school’s main office according to the following schedule:
Tuesday, Jan. 20, and Wednesday, Jan. 21: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursday, Jan. 22 : 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Thursday tickets), 8:00 AM to 4 PM (Friday and Saturday tickets)
Friday, Jan. 23: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Friday and Saturday tickets)
● All tickets are $8.00 when purchased at the BOS Center, and are available the night of each game beginning at 5:00 PM.
● One ticket admits the holder to both games each evening.
● All tickets are general admission.
● Doors will open at 5:15 p.m.
● Metal Detectors & wanding procedures will be in effect prior to entry each night.
● There is no reentry – you will have to purchase another ticket.
● Bags that are no larger than 4” x 6” x 1.5” are permitted after visual inspection. Clear bags are preferred.
● Athletes participating in the contest are allowed to bring their sports equipment bags (i.e. cheerleading bag, poms bag etc.)
● Parking will be available on the street and in the parking garage ($5 per night).
● There will be no ticket sales or admittance after half-time of the second game begins on Wednesday & Thursday evening.
● There will be no ticket sales or admittance after half-time of the 4th game on Friday & Saturday.
● Central State 8 passes, District #186 passes and any other passes from participating schools will not be honored at the City Tournament.
Roads Closed After Games
● Addams St. will be closed at 9th St. at the conclusion of the last game of each night.
● Students will need to be picked up on 9th St. and not at the main BOS Center doors.
Community Building
Once again this year, all schools are coming together for the benefit of the Springfield community. Lanphier, Southeast and Springfield High Schools, along with Sacred Heart-Griffin, are all working together to collect donations to support Rutledge Youth Foundation & Wooden It
Be Lovely.
The annual Unity Day also takes place on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at BOS Center. Superintendent’s Student Roundtable members from Lanphier, Southeast and Springfield organized the event and have invited all other high schools in the city to participate.
The event was initially established for all city high schools to come together and learn about each other, and a service component has been added. They will also be participating in ice breakers and other activities at the event. Springfield Public Schools Foundation sponsors this
event.
