Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) A violent street attack is the Sangamon/Menard County Crimestoppers Crime of the Week.

On June 29th around 2:30 in the morning officers were called to the area of 5th and Cedar.

The victim told officers she when the she approached the intersection there were several people in the roadway not moving.

After the driver honked to get them to move, several white men and a woman started kicking and hitting the vehicle causing over $1,000 in damage.

When the driver got out to confront the people they began punching her in the face.

Two men were described wearing jeans with no shirts and the woman was wearing a red spaghetti strap shirt.
