The kids of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois got a nice surprise Wednesday afternoon when their new 15 person “super-bus” was unveiled for the public.

The Bridgestone Tire Company held a competition among the nations hundreds of Clubs and 10 were selected for the honor of receiving a new state-of-the-art bus complete with new Bridgestone Tires and a lifetime commitment for service.

Executive Director of BGCCI, Tiffany Mathis-Posey told WTAX News the kids were asked to create a brief video advocating for why they need to the new bus and she said the results ranged from silly to sublime but it was enough to convince the panel of judges.

She said it could not have come at a better time as the Clubs two aging busses were on their last legs.
