Brian Thomas Carpenter, 42, of Branson, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Brian was born in St. Louis, MO, on July 3, 1981, the second son of Charles Thomas Carpenter and Ginny Carpenter.
Brian was raised in Chesterfield, MO where he spent over 20 years of his life. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan. Brian loved playing golf. He enjoyed listening to music and being outdoors. He had a passion for playing music on the piano, drums, and guitar. After moving to Branson, MO in 2022, he spent many of those days at Standing By The Door. Brian cherished his family and friends deeply and was known for his generosity and willingness to help others.
Brian’s favorite job was golf course maintenance, and he particularly loved working at Payne’s Valley Golf Course at Big Cedar in Branson, MO. His last position was as a server at Florentina’s Ristorante Italiano in Branson, MO, where he received rave reviews.
Brian was a cherished friend to many, offering his experience, strength, and hope to those in need. Always willing to lend a helping hand or provide a ride, Brian exemplified compassion and generosity in his relationships. He took immense pride in his role as “Uncle Brian,” bringing joy and laughter to his four nieces and nephews. Brian’s decision to be an organ donor reflects his selflessness and desire to make a lasting difference by potentially saving lives through donation.
He is survived by his mother, Ginny Carpenter; brothers Charles Nathan Carpenter (Meryem Adem), John Leroy Carpenter (Abbey Carpenter), William Russell Carpenter (Corinne Carpenter); two nieces, two nephews, Grandpa Bill Nyilas, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Tom Carpenter; Uncle John Carpenter; Aunt Joan Carpenter; and grandmothers Sally Carpenter and Joyce Nyilas.
Services will be held at Fullenwider Park Funeral Home, 200 S. Church Street, Mechanicsburg, IL 62545 on May 13, 2024 with visitation at 11 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 12 PM and a graveside service immediately afterward. A “remembrance” luncheon for shared memories will be held for family and friends at Lakeside Christian Church, 225 Toronto Road, Springfield, IL 62711 at 2 PM.
