Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Come September, the action at Robin Roberts Stadium will be professional wrestling, not baseball. WWE Hall of Famer, AEW star and Springfield Lucky Horseshoes co-owner Jeff Jarrett is looking to transform the historic venue with the Capital City Clash on Saturday, September 21.

Jarrett confirmed Friday that he and his wife Karen will be joined by EC3 and Tag Team Champions The Heatseekers, with more professional wrestling stars to be revealed throughout the summer leading up to the event.  The “Robin Roberts Rumble” will kick off the event, and Jarrett expects the wrestling talent will come from five different global promotions companies. Local celebrities and politicians will also be invited to participate.

“This event has been a bucket list item for me since I joined the ownership group,” said Jarrett, a third generation wrestling promoter whose grandmother and father were also in the business. “Promoting wrestling around the world, including in minor league baseball stadiums, has been a part of my life. We’re going to have a wrestling ring set up at home plate with all kinds of crazy action. It’s truly family entertainment.”

Jarrett emphasized the event’s community focus, aiming to bring people together through the excitement of professional wrestling. “We promote to three generations, from 9 to 90. It’s not uncommon for families to bond over wrestling. This is so much more than the nine innings of baseball you usually see at Robin Roberts Stadium.”

Big Dog Construction has signed on as the event’s sponsor. Owner Chris Hartsook said it was important to him to “support an event that brings the community out.”
