Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Justin Davsko has been appointed to the Sangamon County Board to fill the District 26 seat left vacant after the death of John O’Neill. The Chatham Township Supervisor was appointed by Chair Andy Van Meter and approved unanimously by the board at Tuesday’s meeting.

Davsko has lived in Sangamon County for over twenty years and graduated from Lincoln Land Community College. He is currently employed by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Prior to state employment, Davsko spent over a decade working for a local news station. He serves as the Supervisor of Chatham Township after having served as the Township Clerk.

“Serving my community is a privilege and a passion, Davsko said. “Having observed the value of good public service from an early age, I’ve always believed in the importance of giving back to the community. I look forward to bringing my experience to this role and to continuing to make progress together.”

County Board District 26 includes portions of Chatham and the Piper Glen area. Davsko will serve the remaining partial term left vacant by the passing of John O’Neill. The partial term ends in December, and a special election for the remaining two years of the term will be held on November 5.

Davsko resides in Chatham with his wife and two kids. Davsko will remain the Chatham Township Supervisor.
