Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Mayor Misty Buscher is launching a new series of departmental open houses aimed at strengthening the connection between the community and city government.

Starting in May, the mayor and her team will host events where residents can meet city staff, ask questions, and learn more about how the local government works.

“There is no substitute for listening to the people we serve,” said Buscher.

Each open house will focus on a different department and offer resources for the community. The events will also help city leaders understand what matters most to residents and guide future policies, services, and investments.
