(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A corrections officer with the Illinois Department of Corrections has been put on administrative leave after posting a comment on social media about Sonya Massey. IDOC posted to its social media that CO Angeli made the Facebook post Thursday. The IDOC did not share the post or comment on its content.

An internal investigation is underway. IDOC pointed out the comments of CO Angeli do not reflect the principles and standards of the Department and extended an apology to anyone affected by the remarks. IDOC declined further comment on the situation.
