Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A country music star who has experienced what the Illinois State Fair calls a “meteoric rise” will perform at the fair August 14.

The fair announced Tuesday that Bailey Zimmerman will be the headlining grandstand act on “Ag Day” at the fair.

Zimmerman, the fair says, started his road to fame by posting music to social media in 2020.  Now, he is frequently nominated for music awards, and is a “multi-platinum country superstar.”

“Bailey’s connection to Illinois fans runs deep, and his live shows are nothing short of electric,” said Rebecca Clark, State Fair manager, in a news release. “This is a performance fairgoers won’t want to miss—whether you’ve followed his journey from the beginning or are just discovering his music.”

Zimmerman is a native of Louisville, Illinois.

“Bailey Zimmerman’s Illinois roots make this announcement especially meaningful,” said Jerry Costello, Illinois Department of Agriculture Director, also in a news release “He represents the talent and authenticity that Illinois is known for, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back home to perform at the Illinois State Fair.”

Tickets, which go on sale Friday, range from $55 to $130, will be available through Ticketmaster.  A $30 “Pre-Show Party” ticket can be added on.

Another country star — Lainey Wilson — will headline the grandstand the next night.
