Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County Sheriff Paula Crouch has officially launched a new smartphone app for her department.
Designed by a company called “The Sheriff App.com,” the new public safety app contains the ability to search for inmates at the county jail, file records requests, look up registered sex offenders, and interact in other ways with Crouch’s department.
“Our goal is to give residents a simple and reliable way to stay connected with our office,” said Crouch, in a news release. “This app puts important information and resources in one place, making it easier for the public to stay informed and engage with the services we provide.”
According to a Sangamon County news release, you can also sign up for push alerts, get other safety and emergency information, and more.
While we’d prefer you get weather from us or from the Capitol City Now app, you can get those details on the new app, too.
The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office app is available on both the Apple app store, and Google Play.
It’s not immediately clear at what cost the app came to local taxpayers.
Crouch will be on the WTAX Morning Newswatch next week to talk more about the app.
