Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A corrections officer handling contraband was treated and released after experiencing shortness of breath Wednesday. A news release from the Sangamon County sheriff’s department says Samantha Witty (pictured) was being booked in on a domestic violence arrest and denied having anything on her. Then a plastic-wrapped white substance fell out of her pants. That substance tested positive for fentanyl, and the officer’s co-workers used Narcan on him. More charges are expected against Witty.
