Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Fire has caused damage to a home not far from the Springfield Hy-Vee store.

Springfield Fire says heavy smoke was showing from the front door and roof of the house on South Lincoln Street when they arrived Friday morning.

Officials say fire crews worked “aggressively” to put the blaze out.

No word on the cause. No one was hurt.
