(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The next president of the University of Illinois just may live in Springfield. Or Chicago.

The university is planning to make the president’s mansion in Urbana the home of the chancellor of the Urbana-Champaign campus. The reason, they say, is to reflect the changing roles of the chancellors and president. Future presidents would not necessarily have to live in the university’s headquarters city.

The president’s mansion was built in 1931.
