Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Many Illinois Republicans are weary of seeing Gov. JB Pritzker acting as if he is preparing a presidential run – and blaming President Trump for everything up to and including waxy yellow buildup.

“Oh, they’re not wrong. Donald Trump didn’t cause the problem that occurred before Donald Trump became President in 2017,” Pritzker said in a post-session news conference in his office Sunday. “Illinois was already getting, I think, in the twenty years before I became governor, 21 credit downgrades. Consistently. Not a single credit upgrade.”

Pritzker said between the obligations of prior pension legislation and the commitment for evidence-based funding in educati0n, budget makers already start “$800 million in the hole.”

The governor’s office, though, boasts that the budget lawmakers delivered Saturday night is the state’s seventh balanced budget in a row.
