Chicago, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A grand jury has indicted a man from Libertyville on charges related to child pornography in Montgomery County.

The Illinois Attorney General’s office says Kyle Ranallo, 26, is charged with six Class X felony counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography, and nine Class 2 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.  The indictment was filed May 9, but announced Thursday.

“Predators who share child sexual abuse material must be held accountable so survivors and their family can begin the healing process,” Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul said in a news release. “My office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will continue to partner with state and local law enforcement agencies to locate and bring to justice individuals who exploit minors.”

A search of Ranallo’s home, authorities say, allegedly turned up a number of digital images of children engaged in sexual acts.  The incidents are said to have occurred in March of this year.

Ranallo is in the Montgomery County Jail, and is expected to be back in court June 13th.

The Attorney General’s office says the Class X felonies carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, while the Class 2 felonies each carry a maximum term of seven years in prison.

The Montgomery County Sheriffs Department, and Libertyville Police, each aided in the investigation.
