Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – It’s on to the Senate for a bill allowing some Illinoisans to dictate the terms of their own death. The bill barely passed the House Thursday night.
“‘Deb’s Law’ would allow terminally ill, mentally capable adults with a prognosis of just six months or less to live,” said the sponsor, House Majority Leader Robyn Gabel (pictured, right) (D-Evanston), “to request from their doctor a prescription for medication that they can then decide to o self-ingest so they can die peacefully in their sleep
“Life is a gift from God,” said State Rep. Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro), “not something for government can discard like the tens of millions of babies that have been slaughtered.
SB 1950 has passed the House, 63-42-2.
