Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – After a brief hiatus, the Illinois State Museum is ready to welcome visitors back on Monday after being closed due to a plumbing project. It will be a partial reopening of the museum, located at 502 S. Spring St.

While the construction project is still ongoing, some exhibits and areas, including the Mary Ann MacLean Play Museum, will remain temporarily closed. The project is expected to be completed by early March.

In the meantime, the museum’s On the Road series will continue, bringing programming into the community. Visitors are encouraged to check the museum’s website and Facebook page for updates.
