Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – If you were in the governor’s office Tuesday, you almost could not tell the U.S. is on the cusp of what some say is a global trade war.
Gov Pritzker (pictured, right) and British consul general Richard Hyde (pictured, left) signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the relationship between Illinois and the United Kingdom.
“Close to 100,000 Illinoisans go to work every morning for British companies,” said Hyde. “We’re proud of this. We’re proud of that relationship. We’re proud of the 26,000 jobs that are additionally supported in exports to the U.K.”
