6-time Olympic medalist, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, paid a visit to the Capital City on Monday morning to film a promotional spot for Central Managment Services’ Be Well campaign.
Ms. Kersee has been given the title of “Celebrity Coach” and was joined by the CMS director, Raven DeVaughn, and around 30 CMS employees in front of the Lincoln Home.
DeVaughn says the campaign encourages all state employees to get active and to encourage others to do the same. Both DeVaughn and Kersee say making fitness a team effort greatly increases the chances for success and even makes healthy activity a little more fun.
Kersee, voted by Sports Illustrated writers as the Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century, tells WTAX News after she finishes her work in Springfield she would be jetting to Paris to participate in Olympic activities.
