The incident which has led to the closure of Jacksonville Middle School Friday is reported as a standoff with a barricaded individual in a neighborhood behind the school. WAND Tee Vee reports it started around 1:30 a.m. and now involves the Illinois State Police SWAT team. People are advised to avoid the area, including Hoagland Blvd., Park St., and Daly Dr.

(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Jacksonville Middle School has canceled class Friday because of what is described as an active crime scene nearby.
