Joseph Duncan Irwin, 57, of Pleasant Plains, IL passed away on Monday October 14, 2024 surrounded by family.

Joe was born in Springfield, IL on January 28, 1967 the son of Arthur Clyde and Patricia (Hogden) Irwin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Clyde and sister, Anne Nichols.

Joe is survived by his wife, Garna Irwin. They were married at the Farmingdale Presbyterian Church on January 28, 2024. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Irwin; children, Joshua Kyle Irwin, Lauryn Elizabeth Irwin, Alexzander Jacob Irwin; stepchildren, Matthew Douglas Pearce, Alex Samuel Pearce; siblings, Betsy S. Irwin, Thomas C. Irwin, Sara R. Bachmann; as well as a large extended family.  Joe was much loved by his family and a favorite of everyone who knew him.

He had a passion for his white Camaro and racing. He enjoyed being an instructor for up-and-coming Sports Car Club of America racers.  Joe was an avid gun collector and at one time owned a shooting range.  Joe was known for his expertise in cars and tractors. He was a business owner over the years, became an expert in telecommunications working for Consolidated Communications, AT&T and HSHS.

Joe never met a stranger.  He put his heart into his work and family.  He showed his love by taking care of those around him. If someone had something they needed fixed, Joe was there and knew exactly what needed to be done.

Cremation services are being accorded.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 18, 2024 at Farmingdale Presbyterian Church, 7971 Farmington Cemetery Road, Pleasant Plains, IL 62677 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Memorial Service to follow. Joe will be laid to rest at Farmington Cemetery.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Farmingdale Presbyterian Church.
