Decatur, IL (WAND) – Land of Lincoln Credit Union has completed its purchase and assumption transaction with Williamsville State Bank & Trust, expanding the Decatur-based credit union’s footprint into Sherman and Williamsville.
Land of Lincoln Credit Union acquired substantially all of Williamsville State Bank & Trust’s assets and assumed substantially all of its liabilities, according to a news release issued Tuesday.
The transaction brings Land of Lincoln Credit Union to 15 branches. The added locations expand the credit union’s reach in the greater Springfield area.
“We look forward to welcoming Williamsville State Bank’s customers and employees to LLCU and to improving access to our services throughout the greater Springfield area,” says Robert Ares, President and CEO of Land of Lincoln Credit Union.
Land of Lincoln Credit Union said the acquisition is part of its strategic growth plan to add branches and markets in Illinois and better serve its members.
Doeren Mayhew served as financial adviser to Land of Lincoln Credit Union, while Luse Gorman PC served as legal counsel.
