On Saturday September 21, 2024 Linda Krimmel Wilson, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at the age of 84.

Born on February 21, 1940, in Springfield, Illinois, Linda graduated from Lanphier High School in 1958. She earned her degree in secondary education from the University of Illinois in Champaign in 1962 and dedicated her career to Springfield School District 186. On December 22, 1962, she married the love of her life, Donald Wilson, with whom she raised two children, Curtis and Elin.

After retirement, Linda and Don enjoyed their time as snowbirds in Sun City West, Arizona, where she enjoyed activities such as water aerobics and participated in a Cross Stitch Club. Her talents extended to beautiful cross-stitch creations, and she was an active volunteer at her church. Linda was a Cardinals fan and enjoyed attending baseball games with her family.  She cherished her weekly lunches and card games with friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elinor Krimmel; her brother, George Krimmel; and recently, her husband, Donald. She is survived by her children, Curtis (Mary) Wilson and Elin (Jason) Wind; and her five grandchildren, Jacob (Baylee) Wind, Emily Wilson, Caleb Wind, Thomas Wilson, and Adam Wilson.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery on September 30, 2024 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Linda Strader officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Linda’s warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and dedication to her family and community will endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
