Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Professional Development is always a good way to grow in your career. As a matter of where to take courses on the subject, Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) has you covered through their new Professional Development Institute.
The Professional Development Institute serves as LLCC’s primary source for workforce and professional learning. The newly launched institute will connect employers, organizations, and even individuals to targeted training, credentials and customized solutions in line with regional workforce requirements.
There is a long list of what can be learned within this institute, and LLCC’s Director of Continuing Education and Business Solutions, Diana Bovina, spoke to the WTAX Morning Newswatch about some of those courses.
“We have a little bit of everything. We have everything from prep test courses for UIS Drone Prep, Introduction to Drones all the way to Power Automate courses, Power BI, Excel Courses, AI, and our soft skill courses for leadership training, small businesses, non-profits. we’ve got it all.” Bovina said.
However, if you work in the professional job market, you may notice, it’s hard to find time outside of work and home life to take courses or even make it to an on-site campus. Bovina also had a solution for that.
Bovina also stated “We provide a variety of different services, from one day programming to online courses, to customized training opportunities for companies, we have a large selection of different types of offerings.”
A common question is why is it smart for me to take professional development classes or learn extra skills? Bovina responds to that by saying “We look around and we know from national surveys that almost 75 percent of workers are looking for ways to upskill or retrain. We know that now and days for a basic entry level position, you need 64 distinct skills to acquire that position.”
Jobs these days do seem to be asking for a lot of pre-learned experience, a degree, or specific skills that most people don’t naturally have. Thankfully we have wonderful community colleges like LLCC to help us gain more knowledge.
