Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Statehouse Republicans Tuesday rolled out a package of bills to counter Gov. JB Pritzker’s policies on undocumented immigrants.
State Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer (pictured, center) (R-Murrayville) says – get illegal immigrants out of state prisons and out of the country.
“Especially as criminals, we shouldn’t want them in our communities or in our prisons. We shouldn’t have to pay for them. They should be given to the federal government to be deported,” said Davidsmeyer.
What assurance do we have they won’t re-enter this country?
“I think the border crossings right now would say President Trump is doing a pretty good job not just slowing down, but almost bringing it to a complete halt.”
They’ve had it with using state resources for free health care and incarceration. They’ve had it with sanctuary states. And they’ve had it with local authorities being prohibited from cooperating with the feds.
“I filed HB 3241,” said State Rep. Mike Coffey (pictured, right) (R-Springfield), “to allow Illinois counties the opportunity to opt out of complying with provisions within the TRUST Act by adopting resolutions. This bill gives individual counties the right to set standards which are best suited for their residents and their businesses.”
Davidsmeyer said supermajority Democrats should call the bills if they prioritize Illinois families.
