Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Lutheran High School announced Friday that it has purchased land from Cherry Hills Church. LHS plans to build a new school north of the church on Chatham Road.

School officials say they worked with engineers to determine the best possible location. The school’s previous location on West Washington Street was shut down after mine subsidence caused major structural issues.
