Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield man faces felony charges after a incident where he allegedly displayed a knife and tried to follow a woman into a local Walgreens.
According to a Springfield Police news release, Malcolm Hill, 35, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery, unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated assault. Court records indicate Hill also faces a misdemeanor battery charge.
Police say the incident happened around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens on South MacArthur Boulevard. Calls indicate that a man with a weapon later identified as a knife threatened a woman with it. Then, it was learned the man had battered a female, who ran into a bathroom at the store.
Investigators found Hill in the area not long after.
According to court records, Hill was released from custody, and he is not listed in current Sangamon County Jail records. Hill will be next be in court October 2 for a preliminary hearing.
