(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Stewardson man was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Pana Post Office on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamine through the mail.
Alan J. Logsdon Jr., 42, was taken into custody around 1 p.m. at the post office located at 214 S. Locust St., according to the Pana Police Department. Investigators allege he was in possession of multiple packages suspected of containing drugs.
More than 234 grams of suspected methamphetamine were recovered, officials said. Logsdon is charged with possession of methamphetamine over 100 grams and methamphetamine trafficking — both Class X felonies under Illinois law.
The arrest follows an investigation launched in March by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Central Illinois Enforcement Group into drug shipments entering the Pana area by U.S. Mail.
Logsdon was transported to the Christian County Correctional Center.
