Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) -Introducing Forty-Nine, the gorgeous feline with a unique name, inspired by the NFL franchise in San Francisco. Forty-Nine is a petite tortoiseshell sweetheart with a soft, medium length coat. She is approximately two years old and came to the shelter as a stray on June 25.

Forty-Nine went unclaimed during her hold and is now seeking her forever home. Almost all tortoiseshell cats are female, because two X chromosomes are needed to produce the trademark tortoiseshell coloring of black, orange, and yellow/gold. We’d also like to mention that, in many cultures, tortie cats are considered good luck. Although we can’t promise an uptick in your fortunes, we can unequivocally state that Forty-Nine will bring you loads of love, joy, and wonderful purrs. She hasn’t let us know how she feels about other felines; however, a slow and patient introduction is always a good plan.

Forty-Nine is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated appropriate to age, and ready to go home with you. She is negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
