Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The staff and volunteers at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are grateful for the kind and generous people who open their hearts and homes to foster dogs with special needs. Our Dog of the Week is the perfect example of what love and a home can do for a dog with medical issues.

Meet Rosie, a beautiful two-year-old girl who arrived at SCACAC a few months ago with a horrible skin condition. A wonderful couple saw her online and decided to foster her. Rosie’s skin is healed and she’s healthy and ready to find her forever home. Her foster parents tell us she is a sweet natured girl who loves attention and loves everyone she meets. Rosie has been very friendly at off-site adoptions. She loves playing with her toys.

Adopt a dog now thru May 21st during our Spring Adoption Special! Adoption fees reduced to $30, and you’ll receive a free starter kit that includes a leash and collar, toy, blanket and food. You’ll also receive a free training assessment at Rediscover Your Dog.

If you would like to meet Rosie, please call SCACAC at 217-535-3065 to arrange a meet and greet. Or you can come out to the shelter to meet the other adoptable dogs Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
